How to enable the LTI integration

For Teachers:

To start the LTI integration, reach out to your school's Admin and ask them to begin the setup process by visiting this article, which provides a list of supported LMS platforms and the setup steps for each. 

For Admins:

Admins can start the integration process right away by reviewing the setup steps for their specific LMS. Refer to this article to view the integration instructions for different LMSs. 

? The entire setup process typically takes less than 30 minutes. During this time, you can continue using your current setup to make it easy to transition without disrupting classes or sessions.

 

Once the new LTI integration is successfully set up, admins must delete or disable the older integration to avoid confusion and ensure a consistent experience for teachers and students.

Q: Which LMS platforms currently support LTI integration with Wayground?

We currently support LTI integrations for CanvasSchoologyMoodleBlackboardBrightspace, and Toddle. We will soon support more LMS platforms, so stay tuned!

Q: I have already imported classes from Canvas and Schoology to Wayground. What happens to those classes when my school switches to the LTI integration?

You won’t lose any data. All your previous sessions and performance reports will still be available. However, your manually imported classes will be archived. From now on, when you assign a session via your LMS, new classes will be created automatically in Wayground, linked directly to your LMS courses.

Q. How long does setting up the LTI integration with our LMS typically take?

Most schools are able to complete the setup process in under 30 minutes. The integration is simple and can be done without disrupting any ongoing sessions or classes.

Q. Can we continue using our existing LMS setup while transitioning to the LTI integration?

Yes, you can temporarily use both in parallel. This allows for a smooth and flexible transition without disruption to current workflows.

Q. How will the new LTI integration for Canvas and Schoology change my workflow as a teacher?

The new LTI integration makes it easier to assign sessions directly from your LMS. Here’s how it works:

  1. Continue using your Wayground library as usual. You can still browse, create, and organize your resources (Assessments, Lessons, Interactive Videos, etc.) on Wayground
  2. Head to your LMS course page
  3. Open the relevant module where you want to assign the session
  4. Select Wayground
  5. Pick a resource from your library and assign it as a session directly

Q. How do I know whether my Canvas or Schoology class uses the new LTI integration?

  1. Go to the 'Classes' page on Wayground

  2. Look for the Canvas or Schoology logo next to each class's name

  3. If you see 'LTI' written on the logo, your class is already using the new LTI integration. Therefore, no action is needed


  4. If the logo does not include 'LTI', you are using the older integration. In that case, please contact your school administrator to switch to the LTI version

Q. Will teachers need to manually re-import or recreate their classes on Wayground after the switch to LTI integration?

Not at all. Once the LTI integration is active, teachers can assign sessions directly from their LMS, and corresponding classes will automatically appear on Wayground. There’s no need to re-import or set up anything manually. Just keep in mind that existing classes will eventually be archived.
