If you're using Wayground with an LMS like Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, or similar, you can override auto-grading by manually assigning your own grades to a session. This is helpful when you want to reflect partial credit, project-based evaluation, or any custom scoring not captured by the default system.
?️ Note: Custom grading is available:
- for users with Wayground School & District plans
- for sessions assigned to LMS-rostered classes
Prerequisite: Create a resource to assign as a homework/asynchronous session
- 1. Find the resource you want to use as a session
- 2. Click on the 'Start' or 'Assign' button for live and asynchronous sessions, respectively
- 3. Select the class and section that’s linked to your LMS. You can also click ‘Pick specific students’ to assign the session to selected students
- 4. Click on 'Next'
- 5. Optionally, give the session a title and description
- 6. Click on the 'Edit grading' dropdown. Choose one of the pre-defined grade options or manually enter a number as the maximum score
- 7. Click on 'Next'
- 8. Customize the remaining session settings
- 9. Click on 'Start' or 'Assign'
The custom grade will now be linked to this session, and reports will reflect your grading scale!
